How to Play Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddle sport that blends elements of tennis, ping pong, and badminton into one very fun game. It’s played on a smaller court with a wiffle-style ball and a lightweight paddle, making it less intense than tennis but just as exciting. Games are typically doubles, though singles can work too, and the rules are simple enough that most people can pick it up in their first try. It’s fast, it’s social, and it’s low-impact, which means it works for just about everyone.
Basic Pickleball Rules
- Played as singles or doubles
- First team to 11 points wins (must win by 2)
- You serve underhand and diagonally across the court
- Only the serving team can score points
- The ball must bounce once on each side before volleys begin
- No volleys allowed in the “kitchen” (a non-volley zone near the net)
